Start planning for regional science fair
Preparations are underway for the 2019 Northeast Colorado Regional Science Fair, and local students are encouraged to begin their projects.
The program is part of the Colorado Science and Engineering Fair and has affiliation with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. It has been developed to promote scientific research while teaching students the proper use of the scientific method.
The northeast region represents students in Phillips, Yuma, Logan and Sedgwick counties. Any student in grades 6-12 (public, private or home school) is eligible to complete a project and compete at the regional fair held each year in March at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling.
Entry deadline is Feb. 8, 2019.
Judges will select up to 15 worthy projects to forward on to the state competition at Colorado State University. Participants from Colorado’s 10 regions will compete for a spot at the international contest where 1,700 students from around the world will interact.
