‘The Road Less Traveled: Colorado’s State Highway 14’ photography exhibit at NJC

The Peter L. Youngers Fine Arts Gallery in E.S. French Hall at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling is pleased to present a photography exhibit featuring palladium metal and black-and-white fine art prints by artist Scott Hays. “The Road Less Traveled: Colorado’s State Highway 14” will run from Sept. 17-Oct. 10, with an opening reception Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 6-7 p.m., where Hays will be giving an artist talk.
Hays is a Northeastern alumni, son of Zane Hays — namesake of the Hays Student Center on the Northeastern campus — and a Sterling native who has always had a relationship with Highway 14. He and his family have taken many trips down this highway, traveling to Greeley, Poudre Canyon, Fort Collins and beyond.
Over the past 30 years, Hays has noticed more and more changes every time he has visited the area. He has taken his craft and passion for black-and-white photography to demonstrate what Highway 14 possesses, from agriculture and high plains to steep mountain canyons through ranching country expanding for miles.
