Art center to teach coloring class Oct. 5

    Prairie Winds Art Center in Holyoke will be hosting a coloring class next Friday, Oct. 5, from 1-5 p.m., at the gallery at 443 S. Interocean Ave.
    Attendees will learn how to use colored pencils to color sepia prints. Teacher Caryl Harvey said the results of this technique look similar to oil paintings.
     The class was created to capitalize the trend of coloring books made specifically for adults. These books have gained popularity in recent years as a form of relaxation and stress relief.
    “The goal is letting people take that to the next level,” Harvey said.
