Dragons crushed in Pine Bluffs
It wasn’t much of a contest in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, between the Dragons and the Hornets last Saturday, Dec. 15. The home team won 85-33. “We looked overmatched from the get go,” coach Marcus Kammer said, “and we struggled to get in the right mindset to fight through mentally and put a good product on the floor.”
Already in the first quarter it was clear the basketball game would be rather one sided. Holyoke’s Slaten Burris made the team’s only 2-point shot, while Pine Bluffs racked up a cool 29 points. In the second quarter, Holyoke’s offense got to see a bit more action, adding 14 points to the board, but the Hornets extended their lead with 24 points of their own.
In the third quarter, Holyoke scored 10, and Pine Bluffs scored 21. In the fourth, another seven and 11 points respectively led to a final score of 85-33.
