Nominations sought for community excellence; Chamber Gala set for Monday, Feb. 4
    The annual Holyoke Chamber Gala and Awards Banquet is set for Monday, Feb. 4, and nominations are needed for the community excellence awards that will be presented that evening.
    Categories are Youth of the Year, Business of the Year, Employee of the Year, Citizen of the Year and Citizen of the Years. Include the nomination form found inside this edition of the newspaper along with a short explanation for each nomination to aid in the selection process. Nominations are due Friday, Jan. 18. A Star Award will also be presented by the chamber to a dedicated member.
    The Feb. 4 gala will start at 5:30 p.m. at Phillips County Event Center’s Biesemeier Room. RSVPs are due Friday, Jan. 25, by calling 970-854-3517.
    
Evangelist to speak at Assembly of God
    Dr. Tim Hines of Florida will be bringing his evangelical gifts to town for an uplifting night at Holyoke Assembly of God, 1220 S. Baxter Ave., on Thursday, Jan. 17, from 6:30-8 p.m. Hines travels the country, spreading the good news and physical presence of God. Boat owners to pay new fee in 2019
    Motorboats and sailboats must have an aquatic nuisance species stamp prior to launching in Colorado in 2019. Operators must retain proof of purchase (electronic or printed receipt) in the boat when operating the vessel. Colorado residents will pay $25 for the stamp (added to registration renewal), and all others will be charged $50. To purchase the ANS stamp online, visit cpwshop.com.
