Feb. 22 Child Find screening offered free
Northeast Colorado BOCES, in conjunction with Holyoke School District and Northeast Colorado Health Department, will be offering free developmental screening to children ages 6 months through 5, who will not attend kindergarten next year. The screen will briefly evaluate the areas of language, gross and fine motor, pre-academic development, hearing and other medical needs. Please bring the child’s immunization records with you.
Children living in the Holyoke area can be screened Friday, Feb. 22, from 8:30 a.m.-noon at Dragon’s Wagon Preschool. Call the school at 970-854-2999 to schedule an appointment.
Children identified as having needs that could affect later school performance may be eligible for special services through BOCES. These services are offered in a variety of community settings. Involvement in a program is not mandatory after participating in the screen and is not provided without parental consent. For more information, call the early childhood coordinator at BOCES, 970-521-2771.
