SWAT team called in; 2 arrested Wednesday
A search warrant led to the arrest of two people Wednesday, Feb. 20, according to a press release by the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office.
The department led a search of the home located at 439 W. Furry St. in Holyoke. Due to the threat of weapons and violence to police by the home’s male resident, the Morgan County SWAT team was asked to perform the initial entry of the home. Also assisting with the search were officers of the Holyoke Police Department and Haxtun Police Department and deputies of the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office.
The search warrant was based on an investigation that revealed illegal drugs being sold from the home by the residents. The search revealed a small quantity of illegal drugs, firearms and other items indicative of illegal drug sales.
Anthony Hansen, 29, was arrested at Highway 6 and Highway 59 in Haxtun. Melissa Damron-Scheffer, 32, was arrested at the Holyoke home at the time the search warrant was executed.
The press release said those arrested are held until advised by a judge and bond is set and posted.
