HHS wins tourney; Sullivan takes 1st individually
Five schools competed at the Holyoke golf tournament April 23, and HHS came out on top in both team scores and individually. Senior Brenna Sullivan took first place with a 100, a personal best for her on this particular course. Emily Chaney, who is also a senior, finished fourth with a 113.
Though the team still has a few tournaments left this season, last Tuesday marked the final home event for the senior athletes. Sullivan has golfed for the Dragons all four years of high school, and Chaney spent two years on the HHS team and one at her former high school in Valentine, Nebraska.
Reflecting on their final round at Holyoke Golf Club, the two agreed that it was bittersweet. As coach Marcia Dalton pointed out, though, golf is a lifelong sport, and they’ll be able to continue playing long after they’ve left high school behind.
