‘Miracle in Mudville’ takes stage Aug. 2-4

Casey is the worst ballplayer in the Mudville Little League, the butt of jokes and an embarassment to his dad, who brags of his glory days in the outfield. Tristen Ferguson will assume the role of Casey for the upcoming Phillips County Players Production of “Miracle in Mudville” by D.W. Gregory.
The show will take the stage Aug. 2-4 at Holyoke High School. Friday’s and Saturday’s shows begin at 7 p.m., and Sunday’s show at 2 p.m. An ice cream dessert bar will be included at intermission. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Casey isn’t alone in feeling inadequate; his friends Murphy and Hector, played by Addie Goldenstein and Joseph Helfer, suffer by comparison to their parents too.
A chance encounter with the town’s dead librarian, played by Eva Kramer, throws Casey and his friends into a time warp, where they discover that some of their parents’ big adventures didn’t quite happen the way they said.
