‘Drag’em Down’ is homecoming theme; floats sought for Sept. 27 parade
It’s fall, y’all, and that means it’s time for Holyoke High School’s homecoming festivities! This year’s theme is “Drag’em Down.”
Community businesses and organizations are encouraged to enter a float in the homecoming parade, which is set for Friday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. Floats will line up at 1:30 p.m. on Bignel Street on the north side of Holyoke. The parade will travel south on Interocean Avenue and end at Holyoke City Park for a community pep rally.
Parade entry forms must be turned in to the Holyoke JR/SR High School office by Monday, Sept. 23. Pick one up there or email powellan@hcosd.org.
The parade is part of a class competition throughout the week. In addition to floats, classmates also earn points from dressing up, school decorations, Olympic contests, hidden dragon contest and paying class dues. Dress-up days are pajamas on Monday, twins on Tuesday, superheroes on Wednesday, class colors on Thursday and green/gold on Friday.
