Donate your unused bicycles

Central Plains Equipment is working with a correctional facility in Norton, Kansas, that refurbishes bicycles to give 55 bikes to parents to give to their kids for Christmas this year. The company is rounding up unused bikes to take to Norton to restock their inventory to refurbish or sell for scrap iron to fund the program.

Bikes can be taken to Central Plains Equipment, 280 N. Sunflower Dr. in Holyoke. The deadline is Friday, Dec. 13. For more info, call 970-854-4535.

Central Plains Equipment plans to do this again in the spring, as well.

 

Sunday is Extravaganza at library

Heginbotham Library is hosting its annual Extravaganza Sunday, Dec. 8, from 2-4 p.m. Everyone’s invited to enjoy tea, punch and a sale of homemade holiday gift items all while browsing through the beautifully decorated library.

 

Music concerts coming up at school

Holyoke JR/SR High School choirs and Sound Check are saying Merry Christmas with a concert open to the public Monday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. in the HHS auditorium.

Later next week, students in kindergarten, second grade and fourth grade will be performing in the auditorium Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. The night will include a variety of Christmas songs in addition to a fun musical program called “The Greatest Snowman.”

 

Farmers invited to breakfast Friday

Area farmers, harvest crews and elevator employees are encouraged to join Holyoke FFA for a free farmers appreciation breakfast Friday, Dec. 6, beginning at 7 a.m. at the Holyoke High School ag shop. To RSVP, email rolltr@hcosd.org or call 970-520-3546.
