Student athletes recognize and honor the strength it takes to fight a cancer diagnosis

Childhood cancer survivor Delaney Olson was the guest of honor at the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers basketball games Jan. 25 at Holyoke High School.

Suits and Sneakers Week is a nationwide initiative to save lives from cancer. Saturday’s games at HHS raised $375 for the American Cancer Society and $262 for the Melissa Memorial Hospital 3D digital mammography machine.

As the name would suggest, the coaches were sporting sneakers with their suits as Holyoke and Wray faced off on the court.
