Living by fear or faith?

I’m convinced if there’s a way the enemy wants to attack you it’s by threatening you with fear. He whispers so subtlety:
— You don’t deserve grace.
— You’ll never measure up.
— What makes you think God can use your gifts?
— You blew it a long time ago.
— It’s too hard to walk by faith.
— You’ll never overcome.
— Your sin is too great.
— Is God really good?
And more. He will throw those accusing darts at you out of nowhere. And if you’re not careful, they’ll leave you paralyzed from moving forward. You’ll instead succumb to your deepest fears, and eventually you’ll be chained to them. You’ll be right where the enemy wants you — completely ineffective for God.
Living by faith requires courage in the one who says his perfect love drives out all fear. Faith is the polar opposite of fear. And his love motivates us to live by faith.
