So much can change in just one month

One month ago, northeast Colorado wasn’t even on the COVID-19 map. So much has changed in such little time.

Now, as of Monday, April 20, the six-county region in the Northeast Colorado Health Department, has 214 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19.

The number more than doubled from last week’s report.

Morgan County has 177 cases, Logan County 23, Washington County six, Phillips County five, Yuma County three and Sedgwick County zero.

Last week, NCHD also announced the first COVID-19 deaths in northeast Colorado.

According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Evironment’s Monday report, Morgan County has three deaths, and Logan County has one.

Statewide, Colorado had 476 confirmed cases on March 20. One month later, on April 20, the number has grown to 10,106 cases in 56 counties, including 449 deaths.  

One month ago, the United States reported 18,747 cases. The country now has 746,625 cases, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday. Total deaths are 39,083.

On March 20, the Worldwide Health Organization reported 266,097 cases globally. One month later, there are 2,319,066 cases in 213 countries, and 157,970 people have died.
