Harshbarger offered MMH CEO position

Cathy Harshbarger, MHA, BSN, was offered the permanent chief executive officer position at Melissa Memorial Hospital after a unanimous vote by the board of directors of the East Phillips County Hospital District at their regular meeting Tuesday, April 28.

Harshbarger accepted the offer; however, final contract details were still pending.

Harshbarger moved to Holyoke last year and served as a clinical consultant for six months before assuming the newly created role of chief clinical officer at MMH. She was appointed interim CEO Dec. 1, 2019.

In January, Harshbarger was one of three CEO finalists named by the board, and all three went through the interview process in February.

Harshbarger has over 30 years of health care experience, including nearly 20 years in senior leadership roles. Prior to joining MMH, she served as the CEO at Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, California.
