Donate school supplies by Aug. 1

Donations for a K-12 school supply drive will be accepted through Saturday, Aug. 1. Donation boxes are located at sponsoring businesses: Viaero, 106 S. Interocean Ave., and Bank of Colorado, 133 N. Interocean Ave. For more information, call 970-854-4501.

Wednesday, July 22 — Open class entries, 1-6 p.m.; Rocky Mountain oyster dinner, 5:30 p.m.; barrel racing, 6 p.m.; cornhole tournament registration, 8:30 p.m. (UPDATE: Cornhole and barrel racing have been canceled.)

Thursday, July 23 — Poultry show, 8:45 a.m.; goat show followed by swine show, 2 p.m.; ranch rodeo, 6 p.m.

Friday, July 24 — Dairy cow show followed by beef show, 9 a.m.; sheep show, 1 p.m.; horseshoe pitching, 1 p.m.; parade of champions, 4 p.m.; barbecue, 5 p.m.; kids activity zone, 5-10 p.m.; concert, 7 p.m.

Saturday, July 25 — Parade on Interocean Avenue, 10 a.m.; kids games following parade; pet show, 1 p.m.; horseshoe pitching, 1 p.m.; round robin competition, 1 p.m.; kids activity zone, 1-10 p.m.; junior livestock sale, 2:30 p.m.; Bulls Gone Wild!, 7 p.m.

Horticulture site visit is July 30

CSU Extension horticulturist Linda Langelo will be visiting the Phillips County Extension office Thursday, July 30. She is offering remote diagnosing of plant problems by utilizing sample drop-offs, remote testing and virtual conferencing. To contact Langelo, call 970-474-3479.
