HPD responds to shooting Sunday

On Sunday, July 19, at approximately 10:46 a.m., officers from the Holyoke Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of SW Interocean Drive and Kunkel Street, according to an HPD press release.
During the investigation, it was learned that a male subject, identified as Todd Waln, had engaged in an argument with an occupant of another vehicle at that location. During the argument, Waln brandished a firearm and discharged one round.
As a result of the incident, Waln was taken into custody by Holyoke police officers with the assistance of the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado Division of Wildlife.
Waln is being held on the charges of attempted second-degree murder, felony menacing and reckless endangerment. All charges are alleged until filing by the district attorney’s office. Waln is currently being held without bond until he is advised by the Phillips County District Court.
