Blood drive is Friday

A Red Cross blood drive is set for Friday, July 31, at First Baptist Church, 1000 E. Johnson St., Holyoke, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The Red Cross is also testing blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies. Holyoke EMS plans Sept. 19 golf tournament

Golfers can begin signing up now for the Holyoke EMS golf tournament set for Saturday, Sept. 19, at 8 a.m. at Holyoke Golf Club. The tournament is an 18-hole four-person scramble.

The cost includes golf fees, door prizes, lunch, two drink tickets and chances to win prizes, including a $14,000 2020 Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a hole-in-one sponsored by Deaver Hardware Guns and Ammo and $5,000 cash for a putting contest sponsored by Happy Jacks Barbeque. The tournament will also finish off with a silent auction.

Proceeds will go to Melissa Memorial Hospital for the purchse of a wheelchair van and uniforms. For more information, contact Daniel O’Keef at 970-854-2241.

Celebrate Colorado Day

The Centennial State’s 144th birthday is Saturday, Aug. 1. Colorado Parks and Wildlife celebrates Colorado Day on the first Monday in August with free entrance into any of the 41 state parks.
