PCR sees season finale in Holyoke

IMCA track championships were featured at Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke for the season finale Friday, Sept. 18.

The race of the night came in the stock car feature event when Joe Bellm made it a photo finish to edge out a win over Jesse Taylor.

PCR’s track was in excellent shape, and the weather was perfect despite the low car count for the event.

Bellm, promoter for PCR, is already looking ahead to the 2021 season to find better ways to increase car counts.

Discussion for next year’s season is to have three or four two-day events. The idea of doubleheaders is appealing because it keeps racers and fans in town for a couple of days to drive better economic outcome.
