2 fairgrounds projects approved
Phillips County commissioners met last month with maintenance department supervisor Dan Waln, who provided updates on two current projects at the fairgrounds.
The first project is for improving the floor at the Bank of Colorado Pavilion. Due to moisture conditions and condensation, a gravel and clay mixture will be added to the pavilion floor at a cost not to exceed $13,000. The project calls for the removal of about 4 inches of dirt from the floor and replacing it with the mixture.
The second project at the fairgrounds involves updating the lighting at the racetrack and grandstands with new LED lightbulbs.
