New category added to community awards
Holyoke Chamber of Commerce is now taking nominations for its community excellence awards. A new category in 2021 is New Business of the Year. Other categories are Business of the Year, Employee of the Year, Youth of the Year, Outstanding Citizen of the Year and Outstanding Citizen of the Years. Nominations should be submitted by Friday, Jan. 15, with a signed short explanation. Mail nominations to Holyoke Chamber, P.O. Box 134, Holyoke, CO 80734, or email to director@holyokechamber.org. Winners will be recognized Monday, Feb. 1, either online or in person.
Register for ESL, GED classes
Phillips County Family Education Services’ registration for new students in spring ESL and GED classes is Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 5-6, from 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. at Phillips County Event Center. Classes begin Monday, Jan. 11. The after-school homework program begins Tuesday, Jan. 5. For more info, call 970-854-2595.
Sign up for community support pages
The Holyoke Enterprise is coordinating its community support signature pages for 2021. These include sponsored pages in the newspaper for things like post-season sports, holidays, graduation and more. Businesses can commit to all of the pages in 2021 or can choose specific pages to be a part of. Enterprise closed for holiday
