Home matches to open Dragon wrestling Jan. 28
In a five-week season filled with three quads and four tris, the Dragon wrestlers will open at home in the old gym Thursday, Jan. 28, with action starting at 5 p.m.
The event will feature three teams that will dual each other. Akron and Merino will join forces to make up one team, and Burlington will bring its team to town as well.
Two returning letterwinners lead the eight-member Dragon team.
Returning letterwinners are junior Carlos Legarreta and sophomore Angel Carrasco. Other team members include juniors Ivan Ponce, Angel Martinez, Mason Vernon and Ruby Granados; sophomore Dylan Hielscher; and freshman Tyson Mosenteen.
Dusty McConnell returns as head coach for the Dragons, with Parker Redfern as assistant coach and Eric Luedke as volunteer assistant.
