
Crews are hard at work giving some color to the Holyoke High School gym floor Wednesday, March 3. A couple of people are painting yellow on the basketball lines — carefully avoiding the green dragon in the center — while another adds a coat of black paint to the volleyball lines. One crew member is also working on the sponsor logos on the outer edges of the court. Gym reno nears completion
Due to shipment delays, the gym renovation project at Holyoke High School has been delayed about a week, but completion is in sight and the result looks to be tremendous.
Reporting at the March 4 school board meeting, Superintendent Kyle Stumpf noted that the February storm that hit back East delayed a lot of shipments.
Included in that was the shipment of paint and logos for the gym floor.
Hoping to host at least one home basketball playoff game in the newly-renovated gym, the district was planning on all timelines staying intact for the renovation. The one-week delay due to shipping issues will probably make that unlikely.
