Special section geared toward 50 and over
Look inside for Johnson Publication’s Have the Time of Your Life section that was made with people age 50 and over in mind. It’s got tips on genealogy, video games, cookbooks, staying active, careers, crafts, home brewing, fishing and more, in addition to a fun pop culture pop quiz.
Emerald Award winners announced
The Holyoke Enterprise and Holyoke School District, in partnership with local business sponsors, are pleased to announce the 2021 Emerald Award winners. Kari Vasa, elementary library/technology teacher, is the Innovator of the Year. Elementary custodian Juana Ruiz won the Heart Award. The Leader Among Us is Ashley Clayton, JR/SR high counselor.
These three awards have been given annually, beginning in 2010, to acknowledge excellence in the education profession. An awards ceremony will honor the three recipients the evening of Thursday, April 22. A special section will also be inserted in the Enterprise that week to highlight the winners.
See the Easter bunny at spring event Saturday
A spring home-based vendor event is set for Saturday, March 27, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke. In addition to great shopping opportunities, lunch will be served by Holyoke Centennial 4-H Club. The Easter bunny will make an appearance from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Pancake breakfast is Saturday
Holyoke Lions Club is hosting a pancake breakfast Saturday, March 27, from 7-10 a.m. at the Lions Den, 125 N. Campbell Ave.
No school Friday
Students and staff at Holyoke School District will get the day off Friday, March 26.
