Home/garden show set for Saturday

With warm weather comes enthusiasm for home and yard projects that have been postponed for a variety of reasons.

Targeting both information and sales of products, Holyoke Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Home and Garden Expo on Saturday, May 22, at the Phillips County Event Center from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Vendors from northeast Colorado and nearby Nebraska will be displaying their products and services.

Chamber director Holly Ferguson said that vendors feature two nurseries, grass/seed companies, solar power, rural electric opportunities, lawn equipment, technology (security, television, etc.), sprinkler installs, flooring and appliances, interior home decor and much more.

A unique local feature will be the Holyoke High School FFA chapter that will be selling flower planters made out of wood from the gym bleachers that were just removed for the recent gym remodeling project.

Breakfast and lunch will be served at the expo to raise funds for the chamber’s events and programs.

Ferguson said they look forward to the success of this weekend’s expo with the hope of turning it into an annual event.

Expo sponsors include Home Store at Holyoke, Kurtzer’s, Red’s Liquors and Reese Mechanical.
