Horticulturist in town next Wednesday

Golden Plains Area Extension horticulturist Linda Langelo will be visiting the Phillips County Extension office Wednesday, Aug. 11. She is practicing remote diagnosing of plant problems by utilizing sample drop-offs, remote testing and virtual conferencing before scheduling a site visit. For trees/shrubs, drop off a 6-inch cut in an envelope. For vegetables, take in a sample. For flowers, take in a sample of the flower portion of the flower stalk. Call 970-474-3479 for more info.

All it takes is one click

Just because people live in a less populated area doesn’t mean they don’t need to wear their seat belts. Deer, obstructed intersections due to crops, debris, drunk drivers, tired or distracted drivers. All of these items may cause crashes, and if people are not wearing their seat belts, those things may be the last thing they see. Colorado State Patrol reminds residents that seat belts do save lives. All it takes is one click. People should wear it for themselves and for the ones they love.
