Board OKs weather tower for proposed new wind farm

STERLING JOURNAL-ADVOCATE, Sept. 2 — A Minnesota firm is looking at Logan County for yet another wind farm.

Brady Evans, wind development manager for National Renewable Solutions of Minnetonka, Minnesota, appeared before the Logan County commissioners Tuesday to request a conditional use permit to erect a temporary meteorological tower about 2 miles southwest of Daily. The nearly-200-foot tower will measure and record weather conditions to assess siting of a proposed wind energy project in that area.

Duddens donate bench to Venango community

GRANT TRIBUNE-SENTINEL, Sept. 1 — Dick and Joan Dudden donated a bench with a statue depicting a young girl and an older gentleman playing checkers together to the community of Venango, Nebraska. It was installed Saturday, Aug. 28, by volunteers. The bench is located on Main Street near Legion Park.

FVC’s 2-million bushel storage facility ready for the fall harvest

GRANT TRIBUNE-SENTINEL, Sept. 1 — Frenchman Valley Coop’s new 2-million bushel flat storage facility at their receiving station just east of Grant, Nebraska, is now complete and ready for the fall corn harvest. FVC hosted an open house at the facility Friday.
