Schipper, Vieselmeyer wed in Holyoke

On June 19, 2021, Jared Lee Schipper and Megan Renae Vieselmeyer were married at Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke.

Megan is the daughter of Erik and Michelle Vieselmeyer and the granddaughter of Verdis and Pam Vieselmeyer and Jim and Judy Cirbo. Jared is the son of Brad and Ann Schipper and the grandson of Jerry and Sandy Gunnerson and Lee and Dorthy Schipper.

Pastor Gary Rahe officiated the ceremony, and the musicians were Colby and Kylie Purkeypile. The bride entered to a violin melody of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and was given away by her father. She wore a white lacy strapped dress and carried a bouquet made of eucalyptus, babies breath and blush pink carnations.

Standing by her side were sisters, cousins, childhood friends and basketball/volleyball college friends. Maids of honor were sisters Erin Vieselmeyer and Kristin Vieselmeyer. Bridesmaids were Emily Bodnar, a cousin; Taylor Woodhams, a childhood best friend; Hannah Gillmore, a childhood best friend; Kaylyn Sullivan, a college friend; Jessie Valasek, a college friend; and Jaydi Starling, a college friend. They wore blush pink one-strapped dresses and carried bouquets of babies breath, blush pink carnations and eucalyptus.

The flower girls were Nevaeh and Johanna Harms, who were part of a second family for Megan while she was attending Concordia University.  

Groomsmen consisted of baseball buddies from college and cousins. The best man was Tanner Wauhob, a college friend. Groomsmen were Jake Fosgett, a college friend; Ben Carr, a college friend; Russell Bunting, a college friend; Brandon Schipper, a cousin; Jeff Meyer, a college friend; Wyatt Weller, a college friend, was not able to attend due to military deployment so Grant Schipper, a cousin, stepped in; and Gage Gunnerson, a cousin.

The ushers were Kyle Carper, a friend and fiancé of Erin Vieselmeyer, and Garrett Gunnerson, a cousin. Ring bearers were Alex and Ridley Brinkema.

Guests enjoyed dinner and dancing following at the Phillips County Event Center. The wedding cake was a three-tier white cake with pink carnations and eucalyptus decorated amongst it with a cake topper that has been passed down from generation to generation in the Vieselmeyer family.

The couple is residing in Holyoke where Megan is in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program, which is an online hybrid program based out of College of Saint Mary’s in Omaha, Nebraska. She is a 2015 graduate of Holyoke High School and a 2019 graduate of Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, where she received a Bachelor of Science.

Jared is working on the Vieselmeyer family farm. He is a 2015 graduate of Millard West High School in Omaha, Nebraska, and a 2019 graduate of Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, where he received a Bachelor of Science.
