Softball goes 2-2 to end regular season
The Lady Dragon softball team has qualified for regional play Saturday, Oct. 16.
They swept Yuma 13-1 and 19-5 on the home field Thursday, Oct. 7, and traveled to Wray on Saturday, Oct. 9, where they lost two close games to the Eagles, 11-10 and 7-6.
Coach Sherman Kage said he was impressed with the way the girls performed offensively and defensively against Yuma, noting that they made great adjustments and hit the ball well.
He said Holyoke struggled to generate consistent offense in the games against Wray and added that the Eagles played great defense.
“The focus is to stay consistent defensively and get outs when we need them,” Kage said, noting that the girls will also work to eliminate allowing two-out runs as they look forward to regional action.
