Big win over Yuma propels Lady Dragons into postseason; Holyoke to host regionals Friday
The Lady Dragon volleyball team scored a huge win over Yuma last Friday, Oct. 29, to finish the regular season with a 17-6 record.
Holyoke ended with a 5-3 record in the league, which put the team in a three-way tie for third with Wiggins and Merino. Sedgwick County was the league champ, followed by Haxtun.
Holyoke is seeded No. 6 for the 2A regional volleyball tournament and will get to host one of 12 regions Friday, Nov. 5. Each region has three teams, and only one winner from each site will move on to the state tournament Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 11-13, in Colorado Springs.
On Friday, Holyoke will play No. 31 Heritage Christian at 2 p.m., followed by No. 19 Addenbrooke Classical Academy vs. Heritage Christian. The day will end with Holyoke vs. Addenbrooke.
Other area teams competing at 2A regionals are No. 1 Sedgwick County, No. 7 Wiggins, No. 11 Limon, No. 21 Akron and No. 22 Yuma.
