Dodgeball dominates weeknight fun
On an unsuspecting Monday evening, team and spectators filled the old gym at Holyoke JR/SR High School for National Honor Society’s 13th annual dodgeball tournament. The event raised $900 for Holyoke junior Jeffrey Espinoza, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
A team made up of Holyoke sophomores — The Ninjas — was named the winner of the tournament. An all-girl team called Fifth Grade is Ruff won the award for best costumes, and the elementary school staff members’ team called Average Joes claimed the best spirit award.
