Eureka Club celebrates 70th anniversary
The Eureka Club marked its 70th anniversary with an open house Saturday, Jan. 22, at Phillips County Museum.
Current and past members alike enjoyed the opportunity to mingle with one another and reminisce over refreshments.
Old scrapbooks, photographs, secretary’s reports and more provided a glimpse into the activities the club has participated in and coordinated throughout the years.
Originally an extension club, the Eureka Club was formed in 1951. It supported the Pleasant Valley Ball Park and has shown great dedication to the community in numerous ways over the years.
The club’s first officers were Lucille Miles, president; Viola Colglazier, vice president; Florence Jackson, secretary; Marjorie Colglazier, treasurer; and Mabel Triplette, reporter.
