Clinic makes COVID-19 recommendations

Family Practice of Holyoke recently gave some reminders about COVID-19. The clinic will test patients who have symptoms but recommends isolating for four to five days from the onset of symptoms before testing to ensure accuracy. The clinic will not test those who are asymptomatic. It is recommended to not test before returning to work after an initial positive test result because it’s possible to test positive for up to 90 days. The clinic recommends that each patient isolates for 10 days after the onset of symptoms.

The clinic is accepting walk-in appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine Thursdays from 9 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4:30 p.m. for age 18+. Kids age 5-18 can get the vaccine Fridays from 9 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Melissa Memorial Hospital hosts vaccinations Fridays from 8-11 a.m.
