Annual concert, smorgasbord next Thursday

Good food and good music are in store next Thursday, Feb. 24, at the annual smorgasbord fundraiser for Music Parents Association. A dinner will be served at the elementary school cafeteria from 5-6:30 p.m. Meal tickets are available at the door or from music students.

A free concert featuring Holyoke school bands and choirs will begin at 7 p.m. at the JR/SR high auditorium.

Funds raised from the event will benefit local music students. The association would also like to purchase a new sound system for the JR/SR high music room.

Vaccine bus in Holyoke next Tuesday

Colorado’s mobile COVID-19 vaccination site will be in Holyoke at the Phillips County Fairgrounds next Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The vaccine and booster shots are free and do not require insurance or a photo ID. Reservations are not required.

Nominations sought for hospital board

Three directors will be elected to serve three-year terms during an election for the East Phillips County Hospital District on May 3. Eligible electors of the district who are interested in serving on the board of directors can pick up a self-nomination form from Melissa Memorial Hospital CEO Cathy Harshbarger at 1001 E. Johnson St., Holyoke, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The deadline to submit a form is Friday, Feb. 25. Forms to be a write-in candidate must be submitted by Monday, Feb. 28.
