Melissa Memorial Hospital has a new chief financial officer. Wes White began at MMH on March 27 for the next leg of his 30-year journey in health care finance.
Holyoke City Park will now be closed from 10 p.m.-5 a.m. daily. Those wishing to use the park during those hours may receive a free permit from the police department. Violation of the curfew is punishable by a fine of up to $300.

Holyoke City Council will begin to look into constructing a dog pound to house stray dogs found in town. Discussion during the April 2 meeting got the ball rolling on a possible pound, which the city has discussed in the past.

Baby’s 1st Steps has teamed up with Melissa Memorial Hospital to continue the local car seat program. Anyone needing to rent a car seat or get information about purchasing one should contact Baby’s 1st Steps for an appointment.
Kevin Singleton entertained and challenged the crowd at an April 7 youth rally sponsored by Holyoke Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Youth Challenge organizations. About 250 young people from all over northeastern Colorado and southwestern Nebraska enjoyed music, moves and motivation at the rally.

Members of the Holyoke BPW are selling the 1972 license directories, and they are also on sale at several business houses in Holyoke and Haxtun.
Bill McWilliams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forest McWilliams, was named Colorado state Mr. FBLA at the 14th annual Future Business Leaders of America state leadership conference held in Fort Collins on the CSU campus April 10-11.

April 17, 1947
The painting of a sign on the roof of the Gleason garage, for the aid of airplane pilots flying over the town to be able to tell where they are and also to direct them to the municipal airport, will be started in the next few days. The sign, which will give the name of the town, the type of airport, altitude marking, a true north marking and the direction to the landing field, will be painted yellow and silver. Letters of the words will be 10 feet high.
Dr. Frank M. Dille is now occupying the offices of Dr. H.C. Hill in the Holyoke hospital.
The Methodist Church of Holyoke held their annual fellowship and reception of new members at the church on April 13. At this all-day meeting, L.L. Kunkel gave the complete report of the organ committee and gave their recommendation that the church purchase an organ. The pipe organ, which will cost in the neighborhood of $6,000, will consist of seven pipes and will also include a set of chimes.
That the law against hitchhiking should be strictly enforced and that motorists should under no circumstances pick up strangers is the statement of the local AAA Automobile Club.
