
Dandelion Daze cruises into town June 17-18
Holyoke will be the place to be Friday evening and all day Saturday, June 17-18, when the 21st annual Dandelion Daze rolls into town.
The event, presented by Holyoke Chamber of Commerce, will kick off with the Party in the Park on Friday at Homesteaders Park, located in the Phillips County Fairgrounds complex just north of Holyoke.
Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department will serve a community dinner and ice cream social from 5-7 p.m., and freewill donations will be accepted.
Dance Fuzion participants will perform “Encanto” at 5:30 p.m., and a cornhole tournament begins at 6 p.m.
Cap the night off with live music by In the Groove and a beer garden from 6-10 p.m. If you love music that makes people smile, sing along and feel good, you don’t want to miss it!
Dandelion Daze activities will move to the Phillips County Court House lawn in downtown Holyoke on Saturday morning with events planned for the whole family.
The day begins with citywide garage sales at 8 a.m. Stop by the courthouse to grab a map! Holyoke FBLA students will also be serving up breakfast burritos at 8:30 a.m.
From 8-9 a.m., register and/or check in for the Dandelion Dash 5K, family fun 1 mile and bike parade. The race starts at the courthouse at 9 a.m., and the bike parade will roll out at 10 a.m.
Dandelion Daze is famous for its annual car show, and chamber director Holly Ferguson said she hopes there are so many vehicles they won’t know where to park them all at the courthouse lawn this year. Registration for the car and bike show, as well as the chrome show, will take place from 8-11 a.m., and vehicles will be on display during the Show and Shine until 3 p.m.
An awards presentation is set for 2:30 p.m. at the courthouse steps, followed by a cruise down main street led by car, bike and chrome show participants. The entire community is invited to join in the cruise!
Phillips County Museum, one block east of the stoplight in Holyoke, will be open from noon-4:30 p.m. Visit its transportation area with a Hupmobile, Model T and more.
Downtown Holyoke will be bustling all day Saturday with exhibitors, craft vendors, informational booths and kids activities from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. And don’t forget to grab lunch at the courthouse lawn or at local eateries!

Garage sale registrations will close at noon Tuesday, June 14. Vendors must register online by Wednesday, June 15.
Online registrations for the car and bike show, chrome show, cornhole tournament and Dandelion Dash will close Thursday, June 16, and while online registrations are preferred for increased effeciency, participants can also sign up in person at the event.

Calling all cornhole lovers!
Get in the backyard and start brushing up on your cornhole skills! After a successful cornhole tournament at the 2021 Dandelion Daze Party in the Park, Holyoke Chamber of Commerce is making it bigger and better than ever with a five-month cornhole tournament series in 2022.
The series begins at Dandelion Daze on Friday, June 17, at Homesteaders Park at the fairgrounds in Holyoke. Teams of two can register between 5-5:45 p.m., and the tournament begins at 6 p.m. in the beer garden. Pre-registration is also encouraged at https://www.holyokechamber.org/events/.
Registrants and attendees must be age 21 and older.
The series will continue with tournaments at Bank of Colorado Pavilion, also at the Phillips County Fairgrounds, on Saturdays, July 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 17 and Oct. 15. Participants can pick and choose which tournaments they’d like to compete in.
In addition to good times, good food and good competition, there’s also a guaranteed $750 first-place jackpot payout at every tournament.
