I'm Just Sayin'

After more than 14 years at The Holyoke Enterprise, it’s time for me to close this chapter of my life and start a new one.

My journalism journey started in the summer of 2007 when then-publisher Brenda Brandt gave me an opportunity to learn under some of the best during a college internship. I came back to the Enterprise to assist part time in the fall of 2008, and even though I kept telling myself I’d venture away from my hometown, I kept finding reasons to stay. I accepted a full-time job at the Enterprise early in 2009, and the experience has been captivating me and rewarding me ever since.

I’ve been pushed out of my comfort zone and have done things I didn’t know I was capable of doing. I’ve met people who I wouldn’t have otherwise, and I now have a wide range of individuals who I consider friends. I took a deep dive into local history and then watched Holyoke grow and evolve in a way that makes me proud to call it home. I’ve celebrated with you as you’ve hit major life milestones, won state championships, started new businesses and brought home awards. I’ve also cried with you as you went through some of the hardest times in life.

Thank you for trusting me to tell your stories, design your advertisements and create your printing projects. I have learned so much during my time at the Enterprise, and I will cherish the wonderful memories with staff members and the community.
