Recent Phillips County commissioners’ meetings reecapped
The Phillips County Board of County Commissioners approved the request from Road and Bridge Manager Mike Salyards to rent a snowblower for 30 days, not to exceed 176 hours, at a total cost of $20,000, plus transportation charges, from Power Equipment Company.
Commissioners approved the request from Communications Center Director Sara Kumm to hire Kenny Gaskill on a part-time basis as a fill-in for dispatch effective Feb. 1.
The board reappointed Marissa Bussell to a two-year term on the Northeast Colorado Regional EMS/Trauma Advisory Council, expiring on June 30, 2024.
The board approved the request from Chamber of Commerce Director Jessica Ayala to allow alcohol at their upcoming Party in the Park event, on the condition that a special events permit is obtained from the City of Holyoke, the required liquor liability insurance is acquired and the additional alcohol deposit is paid.
The board approved the request from Jessie Ruiz Jr. representing the non-profit Cinco de Mayo Committee, to sell alcohol at their upcoming event scheduled for May 5 from 2 p.m. to midnight May 6, on the condition that a special events permit is obtained from the City of Holyoke, the required liquor liability insurance is acquired and the additional alcohol deposit is paid.
The board reviewed the FCE (Family Consumer Education) fundraiser request. Linda Langelo, member of the FCE, inquired about holding a garage sale using the same concept as trunk or treat, and to use the parking lot at the Phillips County Event Center. The board had no objections.
The board approved the request from Landfill Manager Bill Andrews to purchase four Top Hat 12x77 trailers from MW Equipment LLC to be used in recycling operations, at a total cost of $9,720.
The board approved the request to extend the Department of Human Services Cost Allocation Contract with MGT of America Consulting LLC, for a one-year agreement beginning Feb. 15 and expiring on Feb. 15, 2024, at a total cost of $5,350.
Commissioners waived the Holyoke Recreation Department’s damage fee due, $508.67 for parts from MC Hardware, for the repair cost to the wash bay at the BOC Pavilion.
