Mustangs Run Wild for the Win Over Lady Dragons

All fired up and ready to go, and fresh off a two game winning streak, the Lady Dragons played four hard fought, tight sets when they traveled to New Raymer to face the Mustangs of Prairie High School on their home court on Thursday, October 10. Both PHS and HHS were ranked fourth in their respective league standings according to MaxPreps, and the match proved to be a competitive one, however, the Lady Dragons fell to the Mustangs in four close sets, 25-23, 19-25, 24-26 and 19-25.

Leading HHS in kills for the night was Anessa Colglazier with 16. Courtlyn Kinnie has two ace serves in New Raymer to lead the Dragons. Kinnie and Emy Goldenstein both laid down 2 blocks in the match for Holyoke. Colglazier again led the team in digs with 21. Isabelle Kropp took the top spot for assists against Prairie with 20. Rounding out the statistics for the evening, Colglazier had 17 in serve receive.

Lady Dragon Volleyball, now with a 6-10 record, has a busy week ahead of them, as they will be travelling to Briggsdale on Tuesday, October 15 to challenge the Falcons in a non-League match-up at 4 p.m. On Thursday, October 17 the Byers Bulldogs will come to town for the Lady Dragons Annual Pink-Out Game, another non-League contest, starting at 4 p.m. Finally, the Dragons will vie for their second win of the season against Yuma as their 2024 Homecoming competitor on Friday, October 18 with games starting at 4 p.m.
