Betty Banks — death notice

Betty Lee Groover Banks of Haxtun died Feb. 28, 2017, in Sheridan, Wyoming. She was born March 14, 1923, to Glenn and Etta Groover at the Groover family homestead north of Haxtun. Her grandfather, James Groover, and her father, Glenn, settled the homestead in 1908.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Banks and wife Patricia of Casper, Wyoming; daughters, Dixie Swaim and husband W.G. and Cheryl Swaim and husband Jerry, all of Buffalo, Wyoming; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan F. Banks; her parents; two brothers, Bud Groover and twin who died at birth; and one sister, Glendora Bamford.

Private family graveside services will be held by her family at the Haxtun Cemetery.
