Cathy Heltenberg

Catherine Ruth Heltenberg was born Dec. 21, 1953, to Warren Keith and Dolores Marie (Krogmeier) Gaskill in Holyoke. She died from heart failure March 26, 2021, in Greeley at the age of 67.

Cathy attended the Holyoke schools. She married William Paul Heltenberg on Dec. 12, 1972, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke.

Cathy served as a cook for 17 years at Saint Mary’s School in West, Texas, before retiring and moving back to Holyoke.

She enjoyed spending time with family, pampering her grandchildren and gardening.

Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Warren Keith Gaskill.

Cathy is survived by her mother, Dolores Haskell of Holyoke; her brother, Kenny Gaskill of Amherst; her loving husband, Bill Heltenberg of Holyoke; her three children, Christopher and wife Melissa Heltenberg of Waco, Texas, Gina and husband Eric Rice of Middletown, Maryland, and Sarah and husband Tommy Britt of Rangely; and her seven grandchildren, Ambie, William, Jacob, Trey, Jayden, Zoie and Ashlynn.

The funeral service was held April 1 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke, with Father Jerry Rohr officiating. Interment followed at the Holyoke Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Cathy’s name to the American Heart Association.

Baucke Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
