Dewey Lindgren of Holyoke died June 14, 2021, at the age of 95. Dewey was born Oct. 27, 1925, to Dewey Carl and Laura Claudia (Miller) Lindgren on the family farm northwest of Holyoke. He was baptized into the Catholic faith and was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke.

Dewey attended school in the Fairfield community for 10 years. He graduated from Phillips County High School in Holyoke in 1943. He served in the Army infantry during WWII and participated in the invasion of Okinawa and occupation of Korea and was a member of the VFW.

In 1947, he was united in marriage to Lillian Sagehorn of Holyoke. To this union, three children were born: Barry, Steven and Alan (died November 1974).

Dewey was a farmer all his working life. He loved to fly and flew until he was 70. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed traveling. He visited every state of the U.S. and 30 countries of the world.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Lillian; sons, Barry of Boulder and Steve of Holyoke; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Holman and husband Carolus of Dallas, Texas, and Warren Lindgren and wife Mendi of Erie; and three great-grandchildren, Isabelle Holman, Holden Lindgren and Hayden Lindgren.

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alan; brother, Gerald; and sisters, Laura Lu Radtke and Barbara Boone.

The funeral service was held June 18 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Holyoke Cemetery.

Baucke Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
