Helen Ilene Haynes Einspahr was born April 16, 1919, in Phillips County. She died Jan. 4, 2021, at Denver Hospice Lowry Inpatient Care Center.

Her parents were Clyde William and Mary Anna Noren Haynes. She had eight brothers and four sisters. She enjoyed living on the family farm and attending country school. She graduated from Phillips County High School in 1936.

She worked for several neighbors and eight years on a ranch, where she met Marvin. They were married Feb. 26, 1941. They both worked on their farm and had 68 years together before his death in 2009.

Helen enjoyed making pottery, ceramics and stained glass, knitting, and playing cards and bingo. She was a great cook and a member of many organizations and clubs and a lifetime member of the Methodist church.

In 1965 they moved to Julesburg, and she worked 14 years as a nurse’s aide in the hospital and nursing home. They also lived in Holyoke several years before retiring in Denver at Porter Place.

In 2017 she met Leonard Williams at Porter Place, and they immediately became the best of friends, spending every day enjoying each other’s company. She was saddened by his death in 2019.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mary; husband, Marvin; daughter, Irene; sisters, Ruby Roberts and Vivian Howland; brothers, Carrol, Wilmer, Harold, Ronald, Gary, Larry and Gerald Haynes; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

She is survived by her brother, Delbert Haynes; sisters, Charlotte Pate and Marilyn Kirkwood; daughters, Marva, Barbara and Mary; grandchildren, Wendee, Nathan, Nicklas and Amber; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Sean, Clason, Cade, Ashlyn and Callie; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
