Helen Knight

Helen Irene Knight was born June 11, 1940, to Freeman and Ruth (Severns) Wadsworth in Rushville, Nebraska. She died Nov. 7, 2020.

Helen married Wendell “Pete” Knight on Aug. 22, 1958, when they eloped to Hot Springs, South Dakota. Helen and Pete spent nearly 59 years together before Pete’s death on May 18, 2017.

Helen worked at various jobs, including the gas company, dental office, as a teacher’s aide and at the family business, Knight and Son.

Helen was a member of the Emerson Street Church of Christ.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Knight; parents, Freeman and Ruth Wadsworth; and in-laws, Roy and Laurene Knight.

Helen is survived by her three children, Kristine Gordon and husband Roger, Kendell Knight and wife Sheri, and Kameron Knight and wife Donna; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.

Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
