Linda Lorene (Alberts) Bly, of Holyoke, died April 22, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer. Linda was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully in Loveland.

Linda was known as one of the sweetest women to ever walk this earth, and we were all blessed to have her in our lives.

She was born Dec. 30, 1954, to Chester Marvin and Hazel Lorene (Vogel) Alberts. After graduating from Holyoke High School, Linda traveled the Front Range, eventually returning to her home where she held various jobs, including singing telegram girl, working at the Montgomery Ward catalog store, a bookkeeper at Shop-All and finally as an in-home day care provider for more than a decade.

Upon retiring, Linda enjoyed being a wife, mother, homemaker and gardener. Her passion, however, rested on the ups and downs of the Denver Nuggets. She was a loud and proud supporter, from listening to the game and taking stats in her younger days to later on interacting frequently on Twitter with her fellow friends, fans, broadcasters and even players. She was given many loving tributes online and on air upon her passing.

Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Lola Shull; sister, Francie Smith; and parents, Chester and Hazel Alberts.

She is survived by her sister, Peggy Bennett; brother, LaVern and wife Linda Alberts; brother, Jim and wife Marlene Alberts of Loveland; husband, Mitchell Bly; son, Logan Bly; son, David and his wife Caitlin Alberts of Loveland; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held in the late spring of 2021 in Holyoke and will be announced publicly.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Katmai National Park Conservancy, where she enjoyed watching bear cams online, or simply give one extra-loud cheer for her beloved Nuggets!
