Lindsay Avis Ferguson, 35, of Holyoke, died Jan. 25, 2022. Lindsay was born June 24, 1986, to Charles Ferguson and Teri Ferguson in Sterling.

Lindsay grew up in Holyoke and completed her cosmetology degree at Northeastern Junior College in 2005. She spent most of her adult years living in the Denver area and worked at Sports Clips, specializing in men’s cuts.

She enjoyed finding adventure in life, focused on time with friends and spent a short time living in California as well. After spending a summer working with youth on a Native American reservation near Mesa Verde, she found her true calling in helping those in need. Following this internship, she began studying toward a social work degree from Metro State University.

Lindsay worked with elderly patients specifically treated for dementia, Alzheimer’s and other advanced mental illness at Sunlight Senior Living Center, as well as giving individualized in-home care of the elderly. She had a heart full of love for those requiring special care as well as all children and animals. As a child, Lindsay would be out with the lambs and her pig, Charlotte, loving/smothering baby chicks or following around a number of kittens.

Lindsay loved her family, friends, and especially her nieces and nephews. She spent much of her time and devotion caring and loving on her nieces and nephews, including vigilantly cheering them on in their activities, whether in person or on TV.

She loved music and playing heated games of cards or pool with friends and family. Lindsay recently moved back to Holyoke and enjoyed volunteering for local events as well as bowling on Monday night league in Julesburg. Lindsay had a contagious laugh that lit up the entire room. She loved fiercely and will forever remain “Foxy” in all our hearts.

Lindsay was preceded in death by her grandparents, Avis Waddell, Dean Powell, and Carl and Edna Ferguson.
