Marlene Adams

Marlene Mae Adams, daughter of Carl and Gladys (Folker) Krueger, was born May 15, 1942, in Holyoke. She died Jan. 30, 2021, at Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke at the age of 78.
Marlene attended Holyoke (Phillips County) High School. On Feb. 12, 1959, Marlene and Vernon G. Adams were united in marriage at Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke. To this union, four children were born: Lenny, Robie, Brian and Lisa.
Marlene was a stay-at-home wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed doing ironing for several individuals in the Holyoke area.
Marlene loved crocheting, putting puzzles together, puzzle books and going to her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She crocheted each of her children and grandchildren a blanket and was in the process of crocheting a blanket for each of the great-grandchildren.
Marlene enjoyed visiting Branson, Missouri. She was a big fan of country music and was excited to personally meet Mickey Gilley on a trip to Branson. Marlene loved her family and was able to recognize and call them all by name in her last days.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Gladys Krueger; and two brothers, Roger Krueger and Darrell Krueger.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon Adams of Holyoke; son, Lenny Adams and wife Connie of England, Arkansas; son, Robie Adams and wife Brenda of Holyoke; son, Brian Adams of Holyoke; daughter, Lisa Arkulari and husband Eric of Wray; eight grandchildren, Brandy Adams, Dustin Adams, Marti and Dusty Thomas, Ashley and Emerson Dominguez, Jennifer and Chad Tuell, Joshua and Katie Adams, Kayla and Matt Fitch, and Keaton Arkulari and Alea Hardesty; and 11 great-grandchildren, Gage Tuell, Peyton Adams, Drake Thomas, Dalton Thomas, Avery Adams, Maddie Adams, Jett Boppre, Krew Fitch, Renli Arkulari, Riggs Arkulari and Creed Fitch.
Funeral services were held Feb. 3 at Holyoke Cemetery. Pastor Gary Rahe of Zion Lutheran Church officiated the services. Interment was in the Holyoke Cemetery.
Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
