Michelle Minor
Michelle Marie Roll Minor was born to Susan and Kenneth Roll on Dec. 17, 1967, and died and departed this earthly life in Grand Junction on April 7, 2022, as the result of a car accident.
She grew up on a farm near Holyoke, helping with chores, driving trucks and raising animals in 4-H. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst and graduated from Holyoke High School. She then graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a degree in metallurgy and materials.
After a summer in Egypt with Campus Crusade for Christ, she found employment with ArmCo Steel in Ohio for two years and met her husband, Todd Minor, with whom she had two sons, Drew and Adam. Her life then revolved around caring for and helping with their education, home schooling, and later serving as a math teacher and coach for their private school.
After her divorce, Michelle returned to Colorado to find employment, and because she loved the mountains, she found employment in Grand Junction. She was a passenger on her way to work and failed to fasten her seat belt, where that decision proved fatal.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Roll; grandfather, Robert Roll; and grandparents, Elton and Eunice Oltjenbruns.
Left to mourn are her two sons, Drew Minor of Nebraska and Adam and wife Sydney Minor of Alabama; grandmother, Ruby Roll; mother, Susan and husband Larry Walters; brother, Jeff and wife Laura Roll and their children Alyssa and family, Zach and family, and Emma; sisters, Carrie and husband Jonathan Kraft and Jamie and husband Chris Reyes and their daughter Evie; and a great extended family.
In death, she was able to help others through Donor Alliance for Organ and Tissue Donation, where donations may be sent, or to The Lutheran Hour or Phillips County 4-H.
Cremation has taken place, and a funeral will be planned later this month.
