Norma Schumacher

    Norma Jean Schumacher was born April 21, 1934, to Charles and Grace (Munday) Hulse in Fleming. She died Oct. 2, 2017, at her home in Fleming.
     Norma married Harlow Schumacher Aug. 2, 1953. To this union, three children were born: Johnny, Sandra and Harlan Schumacher. Harlow and Norma were blessed with almost 39 years together before he died Feb. 17, 1992.
     Norma worked in numerous nursing homes and at Mercy Hospital in Denver, along with home health and live-in care.
     Norma had several hobbies, including embroidery, word search, yard work and spending time with family, along with loving her dog Brady.
     Norma will be greatly missed by her daughter, Sandra Schumacher-Nichols of Fleming; sisters, Rose McClain of Holyoke and Doris and Robert Stowe of Thompson Falls, Montana; granddaughter, Joanna and Dave Lawson of Warren, Pennsylvania, and their children Malorie and Jake; grandson, Tracey Barkey of Fleming; grandson, Jeffery and Amy Rogers of Center Hill, Florida, and their daughter Jayden; granddaughter, Melissa and Troy Brennan and their children Alex and Destiny; grandson, Justin Nichols of Warren; granddaughter, Brandy Nichols and Matt Allphin of Haxtun and their children Brandon, Joey, Randy, Cody, Landon and Emmett; grandson, Timothy and Sara Nichols of Haxtun; grandson, Christopher Nichols of Fleming; and granddaughter, Bailey Nichols of Fleming.
     Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Harlow Schumacher; sons, Johnny Schumacher and Harlan Schumacher; parents, Charles and Grace Hulse; brothers, James Hulse, Darrell Hulse and Charles Hulse; sisters, Ruby Heller and Charlotte Hulse; and son-in-law, Jeffery Nichols.
     The funeral service was held Oct. 5 at Prairie Home Baptist Church in Haxtun, with Pastor Jonathan Prescott officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Holyoke Cemetery.
     Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
