Perry Garrett

Perry LeRoy Garrett, 53, died June 5, 2022, in Laramie, Wyoming. He was born in Denver to Dale and JoAnn Garrett. Shortly after he was born, his father gave him the nickname “Buck.”

He attended grade school in Boulder. His family then moved to Snyder, and he attended Brush High School.

After high school, Perry met and married Charla Neil. To this union, three children were born: Levi, Luke and Perry Jr.

After Perry and Charla parted ways, he met and married Tamara Wright on Aug. 8, 2009, and Perry gained three stepchildren: Diana, Desmon and Deakiria.

Throughout Perry’s life he had various jobs until he found his one true calling: truck driving. Perry loved traveling the open interstates, going from state to state dropping off and picking up loads. In his free time, he liked to go to casinos, fish, and visit historical places and learn about their history.

Perry also loved telling stories about his travels up and down the interstates to anyone who would listen. It can honestly be said that he passed away doing what he loved doing. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Perry is survived by his wife, Tamara Garrett; children, Levi Garrett of Holyoke, Luke and Megan Garrett of Holyoke, and Perry “Shorty” Garrett Jr. of Panama, Florida; father, Dale Garrett of Holyoke; brothers, Frank and Peggy Garrett of Snyder and Scott and Ardis Garrett of Brush; sisters, Crystal Worley of Billings, Montana, and Shirlee and Darrell Patten of Venango, Nebraska; two granddaughters, Kiera and Harper of Holyoke; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 25, at 11 a.m. at Julesburg Christian Church, 122 W. 5th St., Julesburg, CO 80737, with Pastor Harris officiating.
